Gordon river

A blank canvas today for a big drippy painting of the Gordon River. A celebration really of the access to a wilderness, a move from the walls of the apartment, the looming tree out into a huge quiet space. The river was spectacularly beautiful. Dark, tannin water reflecting the trees more real, clearer, more precise, than they are. I think I’m ready though to move to watercolour paper, I’m missing the beauty of the blooms of colour, the softness of the gradients and the sharpness of the pigmented edges.
