Working on large scale ink and watercolour paintings. Taking copies and repainting them. Photographing and reprinting and repainting. What happens in this revisiting and relayering? Drawing in towards tiny details then back again to see the whole work. Proximity and distance. Pushing the paper to see how far it can go, how much ink and watercolour it takes. Thinking about scale. Rothko’s work, Kiefer’s work. Relishing in the space and the freedom of a new project.
